Peer Mentors

What is the IPSE Program?

The Elevate IPSE (Inclusive Post-Secondary Education) program at NC State
offers students with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to
experience college life, gain academic, social, and employment skills, and develop
greater independence.

What Will You Do as a Peer Mentor?

  • As a peer mentor, you will:
    • Support students in navigating campus life
    • Offer academic assistance and study support
    • Help foster social connections and engagement in campus activities
    • Provide guidance on building independence and developing life skills
    • Earn $15 per hour

Why Become a Peer Mentor?

    problem-solving

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a current university student
  • Demonstrate patience, understanding, and a willingness to support diverse learners
  • Commit to a flexible schedule, including weekly meetings and events
