No. Your student will have scheduled times with peer mentors, however; just like the typical college experience, not all time will be scheduled with support.

Elevate students will have access to the same resources on campus as traditional students. These include campus police, the health center, the counseling center, wolf alert emergency notifications, blue light buttons, the disability resource office, the tutoring and writing centers, as well as many others. In addition, Elevate students will have access (as needed) to student mentors who will aid in academic, social, employment, and personal skill development.

Elevate costs are the same as the cost of general admission at NC State. Currently, the estimated cost of admission for an undergraduate student at NC State is $19,086 a year for students living off campus and $27,424 a year for students living on campus. Each accepted student for the Spring 2025 will receive a scholarship to cover tuition and fees. Scholarships will be reassessed with each open admission cycle. Scholarships will be provided based on the student’s financial need and the availability of funds.

Yes. Housing status is based on a year-by-year basis and any student interested in living on campus will need to request housing in the Spring for Fall housing. Housing on campus is limited, and requests will be reviewed and approved based on availability.

If students wish to live on campus, they will live in the Wolf Village Apartments. Each apartment has 4 bedrooms which will include 3 Elevate students and one residential coach.

With the support of Elevate staff, students will decide where they want to live and what they want to do for work after completing Elevate. Once they leave the program, students will transition back into their community and apply the skills they’ve gained and implement them into everyday living.

Unfortunately, no. Students must have an intellectual disability in order to be accepted into Elevate. NC State does offer other resources on campus to support students with developmental disabilities. Explore the accommodations offered through the Disability Resource Office (DRO) or the one-on-one mentoring offered through the OnePack Empowered program.

  • *To be eligible for supports offered by other university programs, students must apply and be accepted through the traditional undergrad admissions process.
